Outreach

What are your financial policies?
Please make these policies known to any person that may be contributing to your trip.

To receive a tax deduction, sponsors must make their checks payable to One World Missions.  All contributions will be receipted by One World Missions.  OWM has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt organization described in Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c) (3) and is eligible to receive tax deductible donations. All contributions to One World Missions are solicited with the understanding that One World Missions has complete discretion and control over the use of all donated funds.  According to IRS code, contributions are not refundable nor can the donor or missionary request the contribution be designated for another missionary. All funds donated by sponsors become the exclusive and permanent property of One World Missions when received and are at all times under the complete discretion and control of One World Missions. Donated funds will be used in furtherance of One World Missions' tax-exempt purposes for missions work and evangelism.  According to IRS code no goods or services can be received in exchange for your contribution. Therefore, personal contributions for your own trip are not tax deductible, nor are contributions made by the legal guardian of a minor for that same minor.

When sponsors send in a check, the check should be accompanied by the return stub located on the bottom portion of the support letter.  If you receive a check that happens to be made out to you, please be sure to endorse the check before sending it to the One World Missions offices. Keep in mind, as noted above, in order for the donor to receive a tax deduction the check MUST be made payable to One World Missions.

Where does the money go?
We believe in providing the best possible experience on your missions outreach.  We believe that we should make the experience as comfortable as practically possible. This means that we try to arrange the best accommodations possible given limitations of location and budget. We work to provide safe, reliable transportation.  We also make it a priority to provide balanced, safe meals, prepared by reputable sources.  The trip budget is arrived at by taking actual expenses for each trip plus the cost of team leaders.  These costs include: housing, daily transportation, food, outreach expenses, exit taxes, in-country transportation, outreach-related materials, and trip set-up expense.  OWM directors receive no compensation from trip monies for leading trips. We believe that we provide each team member with the best possible value for missions outreach.

Expenses do not include:  Passport, visas, immunizations or vaccinations, money for laundry, souvenirs or airfare.  We also do not cover any costs associated with an early return as a result of a serious violation of rules set forth by OWM or any family emergency.
