Coming home from China is never easy. While there on a trip you get a sense of how big God’s heart is for the Chinese people and what a great purpose He has for them in getting the Gospel to the nations. Seeing this deepens the compassion that was already in you. This is why our commitment is to the next generation of young people that are growing up in China. We must reach the next generation. We have had awesome opportunites to build relationships with Chinese students. When you are saying goodbye to the now close friends that you have made and love it is never easy. But you leave with a better understanding and deeper heart to continue on in prayer for this nation of China to take home with you. As we return to the students each year we witness individuals growing in their faith, we see new hearts being softened; we see the success of the school as an educational institute progress, as well as its fruits as a spiritual nurturer. Because it is illegal to openly evangelize in China, we turn our attention to spending quality time with the students, getting to know them and building friendships. In the end we desire for the students to see God’s love for them in us. Our prayer for China is that, “The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light. And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death, light has dawned.” (Matthew 4:16)
